Materials Manager$90,000 - $100,000 Base Salary, plus Bonus, Benefits on Day 1Location: Huntsville, ALWe are looking for a Materials Manager that will be responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, scheduling and procurement of materials and products to meet the operational execution, fulfillment, and working capital goals of the company. This manufacturing environment is a bit more in depth than assembling materials that can be ordered and stockpiled, as most of the projects that you will be planning are custom. With that being the case, the components of the products being manufactured are mostly custom as well. We are seeking someone who can be a great communicator across multiple departments to ensure that manufacturing operations are efficient as possible.Responsibilities: Materials ManagerThis involves the responsibility of directing raw material/component procurement, planning and scheduling using Integrated Business Planning methodologiesSet the vision for the department and is ultimately accountable for the performance of the plant materials teamLead directly/through subordinate supervisory team, the planning, procurement of materialsResponsible for directing the work force in such a manner as to meet approved production schedules with the budget costMaintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation chargesAbility to understand and lead cross functional problem solving efforts to improve the overall plant metrics to improve customer deliveryStakeholder in the product portfolio management processManage and coach subordinates on performance and career path insuring development, integrity and resiliency in the Materials areasImplement Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen initiatives to align and drive KOS strategies across Materials departmentOversees and ensures proper production control planning and scheduling programs to meet sales forecasts and to balance labor and machine capacityAccountable for the execution of the Master Production Schedule through the operational execution of the detailed production schedulePivot point with the customer service team to provide fulfillment updates to our customersWorks in conjunction with the Purchasing team to oversee the purchasing or contracting of materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the operation of the plantExecutes purchasing policies according to the Kohler Company and the respective laws of the countries in which we purchase materials or servicesKeeps an external focus on changes within the industry and countries in which we operateDevelops, establishes, and provides for the maintenance of reporting systems that relate to the materials functionResponsible for proper application of established employee relation's policies, Wage and Salary Administration policies, safety and health regulations and proceduresMaintain established goals and objectives to monitor efficiency of workforce and control labor costsRequirements: Materials ManagerBachelor's degree in Business or Management preferred or additional year for year work experience5 to 10 years' experience with proven results in areas related to materials control, production controlCI certification or equivalent experience necessary to be successful in this roleAbility to communicate well with multiple departmentsMicrosoft Excel abilities as it drives production scheduling
