Mechanic

*Position Summary* The Cropping Mechanic position is a key role in the function of Jasper Hills cropping effort. This position is based out of our shop and Hay Drying facility in East Craftsbury and involves equipment service in the field. This position is part of the Cropping Team and the cropping mechanic plays a role working with the field team to make hay while the sun shines. Haying in Vermont is fast paced work when the weather is favorable with time to rest and recover when the rain comes. As such schedules are determined by weather windows during the summer and are much more flexible on the shoulder seasons. This can be a year round or seasonal role for the right candidate starting in April and finishing in early December. *Core Duties & Responsibilities* * Maintenance and repair of Cropping Equipment * Equipment operation as required * Execution of a production plan as part of a broader team *Required Skills:* * Welding * Diesel engine diagnostics and repair * Electrical system diagnostics * Routine and Preventive maintenance on Tractors, Mowers, Tedders, Rakes, Trucks and Balers. * Problem Solving Skills * Teamwork and Good Vibe * Trustworthy, organized, detail oriented. * Contribute to a culture of positivity, accountability, and development. * Travel to other sites required (within 10 mile radius) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Employee discount * Health insurance * Health savings account * Paid time off Schedule: * Day shift Ability to Commute: * Greensboro Bend, VT (Required) Ability to Relocate: * Greensboro Bend, VT: Relocate before starting work (Required) Willingness to travel: * 25% (Preferred) Work Location: In person by Jobble
