Part Time Watch / Substitute CustodianThe Part Time Watch / Substitute Custodian position is non-benefited.Date: March 13, 2026Available: ImmediatelyTerms of Employment: 12 MonthsHours: Work hours to be determined by the Foremen and Supervisor of Buildings and GroundsHourly Rate: $18.86 / hourLocation: East or West LeydenAssignment: 12-monthFLSA Status: Not ExemptReports to: Foreman and Supervisor of Buildings and GroundsHours: To Be Determined by the Foremen and Supervisor of Buildings and GroundsEssential Job Functions:Ability to speak in a clear and understandable manner and write legibly.Ability to walk continuously, 6 to 10 miles, through the eight (8) hour shift.Ability to lift in excess of 100 pounds.Ability to work at various heights.Ability to work in confined areas.Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.Ability to be available for emergency situations.Ability to be aware of the security of the students, staff, and schoolAbility to meet attendance requirements.A valid driver's license is required.Performance Responsibilities Part-Time Watch:Patrols district buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry as per schedule.Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes, or detains them, and/or calls police for assistance, according to the emergency action plan.Reports any unusual conditions, malfunctioning of heating, plumbing, or electrical systems and other unusual conditions in the building and/or grounds.Makes written reports of unusual conditions along with a written shift report.Performs other duties as assigned by the Foremen and/or Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.Performance Responsibilities Substitute Custodian:Assists in snow removal.Participate in the general cleaning of the school building as per custodian work schedule.Create work tickets for needed repairs and report to the foreman.Assume responsibilities for the general fire safety of the building.Reports immediately to a foreman any damage to school property.Performs other duties as assigned by the Foreman and/or Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.Physical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
