This position involves welcoming patients, managing registration, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and providing essential support throughout their healthcare journey.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate a warm and efficient environment for patients, addressing their needs and guiding them through initial healthcare processes.Collect and accurately enter patient demographic information, including insurance details, into the system.Update patient records as necessary and obtain required consents and forms.Verify insurance coverage through direct contact with providers or electronic systems, ensuring proper pre-authorizations and referrals are secured.Explain insurance benefits and financial responsibilities clearly to patients.Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly answering calls, addressing concerns, and providing information.Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other payments in line with organizational policies.Support efficient claims processing and patient satisfaction by managing work queues effectively.Assist patients in navigating online portals and adapt to shifting work assignments as needed.EducationHigh School Diploma or GED is required. Completion of an accredited medical receptionist program or equivalent healthcare experience is preferred.ExperienceAt least six months of experience in office, call center, customer service, or healthcare settings is preferred. Proficiency with computers and data entry is important.CertificationsAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.Mental and Physical RequirementsAbility to maintain focus and attention to detail under time constraints. Comfortable with extensive computer use and frequent interruptions.
