Maintenance Mechanic – Direct Hire Location: Petersburg, VA | Pay Rate: $25.76 – $35.26 per hour | Schedule: 1st Shift 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM; 2nd Shift 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM We’re hiring Maintenance Mechanic pros in Petersburg who know what it takes to keep machines running. Qualifications High school degree. 2+ years of successful mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair experience in a manufacturing facility. On-the-job success in safety, attendance, and quality of work expected. Strong knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, electrical and electronics technologies. Computer savvy. Maintenance experience in corrugated is a plus. Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to fully cross-train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities. Responsibilities Follow all safety rules and practices. Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components, and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels. Perform emergency/breakdown maintenance as necessary to support plant operations. Accurately use measurement and test equipment. Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam system, and other repairs and installations as needed. Maintain clean and organized work areas, and clean up work areas as part of completing assigned tasks. Accurately and completely prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork. Troubleshoot and solve problems. Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to fully cross-train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities. Will be required to work alternative shifts, weekends, and overtime as required. Able to work with computer systems for maintenance processes, stores, and work orders. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
