Your impact The Digital and Data Accounting Manager is a liaison between the Poland-based General Ledger and Project Accounting teams, Streetlight leadership teams, D&D Private Markets and Water and D&D controller. This role owns the integrity of the general ledger, the accuracy of project-level accounting across both subscription and consulting revenue streams under ASC 606, and the software capitalization process under ASC 350-40. The role supports financial reporting that feeds SEC filings and executive reporting, so accuracy, documentation, and audit-readiness are non-negotiable.Key Responsibilities:General Ledger OversightOwn the integrity of the general ledger, including the accuracy and timeliness of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across the GL team.Manage the month-end and quarter-end close, ensuring close milestones are met, reconciling items are cleared on schedule, and TB upload happens on day 3.Recreate all of the reconciliations and assist Poland team on maintaining the reconciliation discipline going forward.Create monthly royalties and other internal reports needed to report DaaS and other Streetlight initiatives.Project Accounting Oversight:Lead project accounting for the consulting portfolio, including revenue recognition under ASC 606 and unbilled and deferred balances. Assist PA teams on maintaining the integrity of recognition rules with SaaS industry.Coordinate with the SaaS revenue process to ensure subscription revenue, deferred revenue, and contract balances are accurately stated. Establish and own the IWA process, currently in development.Oversee project setup, cost capture, and margin accuracy at the engagement level.Compliance and Other Maintain sales tax (Wayfair Ruling) compliance with outside tax consultants as well as internal Jacobs sales tax team. Assist other Jacobs entities in being compliant, i.e. expansion of UK Water portfolio into the States. Maintain Avalara relationship. Maintain Canada sales tax compliance.Manage state registrations and work with Jacobs sales tax team to ensure compliance on state level.Calculation of monthly and quarterly commissions, maintaining prepaid reconciliation and integrity of ASC606 rules.Software Capitalization (ASC 350-40)Execute the capitalization process for internal-use and internally developed software, including identification of qualifying application-development-stage costs, capitalization cutoffs, and the start of amortization at go-live. Partner with engineering, product and services teams to capture project hours and cost inputs and to assess cloud computing arrangement implementation costs under ASU 2018-15. Prepare a monthly reconciliation and maintain capitalization schedules, amortization, and impairment indicators with supporting documentation sufficient for external audit. Work with internal Streetlight product and engineering teams to enable more precise and sophisticated time tracking related to development and capitalization.Partner with Fixed Assets to evaluate D&D's software capitalization practices against Jacobs policy, determine whether current treatment reflects a supportable accounting distinction (ASC 350-40 vs. ASC 985-20) or a process deviation and remediate if the latter."Team Efforts:Partner the Poland GL and Project Accounting teams across time zones to maintain close-cycle continuity and improve processes continually Coordinating with StreetLight Sales Ops on contract structuring, payment terms (to optimize DSO), and sales tax implications to prevent close-cycle disruptions from unresolved sales-side issues. Assist the D&D Controller to establish SaaS revenue recognition and compliance processes supporting new SaaS market expansion within the U.S. within Private Markets and Water, including sales tax compliance, nexus studies, revenue recognition, contract structure and systems setup Here's what you'll need Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including General Ledger, revenue accounting, project accounting, and financial reporting responsibilities.Strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on responsibility for GL, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Direct SaaS accounting experience, including subscription revenue and ASC 606 compliance. Hands-on Sage Intacct experience managing accounting operations and reporting. Experience with software capitalization accounting under ASC 350-40.
