Radiology - X-ray Tech

XRAY Tech

Proficient in the OR is required. The first half of the shift will be during the day, and the second half will be in the evening. Weekends will be included. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ARRT certification and other specialty certifications are necessary. The department has four rooms and utilizes portables. Coverage may be required in other areas such as Xray and CT. Common types of imaging performed include general scans of the chest, spine, and extremities. The department uses Epic for EMR and PACS for communication. Equipment includes Phillips, GE, and Carestream fixed systems, as well as Shimadzu portables. A lead tech is present 24/7. No Registered Radiology Assistants are used. Radiologists are in-house during the day until 6 PM, with external radiology staff covering at night. IV starts are not required. Shifts are scheduled by management, with eight-hour shifts beginning at three different times. Two staff members are required to be present at all times. Every other weekend is mandatory, with flexibility required for holidays. There are no call or standby requirements. Scrubs are not provided, but hospital options are available. Department-specific orientation includes a tour of the unit and one week of training. Candidates should be flexible and willing to adapt to departmental needs.
