Data Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days per week onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is responsible for developing and delivering complex data solutions to meet technology and business goals. The ideal candidate will code, design, and deliver tasks associated with the integration, cleaning, and transformation of data in operational and analytics systems. You will build processes supporting data transformation and define data pipelines that enable faster, data-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver data solutions to accomplish technology and business goals
• Code design and delivery tasks associated with the integration, cleaning, transformation and control of data in operational and analytics data systems
• Work with stakeholders, Product Owners, and Software Engineers to aid in the implementation of data requirements, performance analysis, research and troubleshooting
• Contribute to story refinement and defining requirements
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional requirements
• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency and workload management
• Define and build data pipelines that enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the business
• Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, and identify and triage any test issues/errors
• Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality
• Adhere to team delivery/release process and cadence pertaining to code deployment and release

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of hands on development and implementation experience with any ETL tool
• 5+ years of development experience in Oracle, SQL Server
• 4+ years in Data Warehouse / Data Mart / Data Mining/ Business Intelligence
• 4+ years of experience with BI and Analytic tools – Tableau, Oracle BI
• Proficient with both Linux shell scripting and Oracle SQL / PLSQL
• Strong understanding of data visualization concepts used to identify trends that lead to actionable insights
• Experience designing tables and assessing relationships of database systems, including performance tuning, database design, and data models
• Demonstrated data skills with large data stores, comfort with navigating and connecting disparate data sources
• Ability to present technical concepts to senior level business stakeholders
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Impeccable communication skills – verbal and written
• Experience in working in a global technology development model

Desired skills:

• Preferred ETL tool: Informatica 10.x or above
• Exposure and experience to No SQL Databases (Mongo, Cassandra, Elastic, Marklogic, etc.)

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
