About the Position

Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:00 - 18:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current acute care hospital ICU experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital ICU experience. BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications are required. Description: This is a travel RN position in the ICU. The unit consists of two pods, providing a total of 28 ICU beds. Pod A has 12 beds and was opened recently. Pod B has 16 beds located on the second floor. The nursing staff includes 1 charge nurse and a varying number of registered nurses based on census and acuity. There are critical care techs available 6 days a week from 0900 to 2100. Patient ratios typically range from 1:2, with the potential for 1:1 or 1:3, depending on acuity. The unit is equipped with Pyxis, Plum Pump IVs, GE bedside monitors, Nelcor, Arctic Sun, and Sub Zero. Medical records are maintained in Meditech. The unit primarily performs neuro surgical procedures, trauma care, and manages cardiac and respiratory arrests. All ventilated patients are admitted to the ICU. A successful candidate will be flexible, team-oriented, and patient-centered. The current staff is diverse in terms of experience, with many members having worked there for over 20 years. The new ICU expansion has enhanced the unit's ability to care for critically ill patients. The intensivists are available 24/7 and are known for their supportive and respectful approach to nursing staff. Traveling staff members are welcomed and appreciated for their contributions to the team. The average census for the facility ranges from 100 to 125 patients.
