Contract | Night Shift | Onsite — Travelers are expected to be flexible with scheduling; 3 consecutive shifts may be available but are not guaranteed. Night shift weekend requirement is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with every other weekend or approximately 3 weekend shifts per schedule period. Holiday rotation participation is expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed Neuroscience unit serving patients with diagnoses including stroke, seizures, deep brain stimulators (DBS), surgical/post-op spine, and neurological disorders
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5–6 for floor patients, with nurse aide support available each shift
• Administer and monitor drip medications (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, Insulin) per physician orders and unit protocols
• Document telemetry strip verification in Epic, confirming monitor tech readings; RNs are not required to independently read strips
• Demonstrate proficiency with G-tube management and neurological assessment tools, including NIHSS
• May be required to float to other units within the facility as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Strong, recent Neuro nursing experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency and frequent hands-on experience with G-tube management required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring in a floor or step-down setting
• Familiarity with titration protocols in a physician-order-driven environment
• Experience working alongside respiratory therapy with floor-level ventilator patients
