Clinical Manager - CCU/CVCU

Overview MANAGING NURSING UNITS; EMPLOYER-PAID PENSION PLAN (NEVADA PERS); COMPETITIVE SALARY & BENEFITS PACKAGE. UMC is an academic medical center in Southern Nevada, serving as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District and offering Nevada’s highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients. UMC is a Level I Trauma Center, home of the ONLY Verified Burn Center and Transplant Center. In 2026, it became the FIRST and ONLY Magnet(R)-Recognized hospital in the state, reflecting nursing professionalism, teamwork, and excellence in patient care. Position Summary Manages one or more clinical units. Duties include determining appropriate staffing levels to achieve organizational goals, participating in the development of the unit budget, monitoring the units\' compliance with standards and supervision of nursing staff. Responsibilities Manage one or more clinical units, ensuring staffing aligns with organizational goals. Participate in development of unit budget and monitor unit compliance with standards. Supervise nursing staff and ensure high-quality patient care. Education and Experience Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, two (2) years of supervisory role or higher. May consider candidates with four (4) years in a nursing lead role and completion of required hospital management training class. Licensing and Certifications Licensing/Certification Requirements: Valid license from the State of Nevada to Practice as a Registered Nurse. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Some positions may require additional certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Trauma Nurse Core Certification (TNCC); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP); or additional certification in a specialty area. Additional Position Requirements PREFERENCES WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO DOCUMENT THE FOLLOWING: Strong nurse leader or Clinical Manager experience Prior experience supervising a minimum of 70 FTEs Minimum of two (2) years of CCU/CVCU nursing experience Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in supervisory roles Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Nursing process; patient care planning and evaluation; regulatory standards and Joint Commission expectations; quality assurance and performance improvement principles; Nurse Practice Act; supervisory principles; safety and infection control; emergency response procedures; age-specific care practices. Skills in assigning and monitoring work, budget development and monitoring, staffing planning, data analysis, and effective communication with diverse groups. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Mobility to work in a clinical setting; ability to stand or sit for extended periods; ability to lift or move objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently; visual and auditory capabilities to perform duties.
