Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse

Provide specialized critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Deliver compassionate, high-quality care for critically ill children, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor pediatric patients’ conditions using advanced clinical skills.
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments following physicians’ orders.
• Perform procedures such as IV starts, caths, trach care, IP monitoring, and ventilator management.
• Document patient care accurately in the Cerner system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment adhering to unit policies and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Active, current RN license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of 2 years of PICU nursing experience.
• Valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Proven ability to perform complex pediatric critical care procedures.
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to float to Peds and NICU as needed.
