Business Coordinator

Mississippi State University is hiring a Business Coordinator to provide administrative support and maintain the general accounting system for the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries & Aquaculture. The role involves managing procurement cards, processing purchases, supporting payroll and hiring of hourly personnel, and assisting with fiscal administration and reconciliation tasks. Highlights Provides fiscal administration support, including budgets, funding, grants, payroll, and purchasing. Manages procurement cards, including tracking, monthly reconciliation, audits, and invoice payments. Prepares journal entries, requisitions, and processes vouchers for department expenditures. Maintains financial records and reconciles department accounts with university records. Processes payroll time sheets and employment documents for hourly wage employees. Utilizes BullyBuy for purchase requisitions and coordinates with University Purchasing Department. Preferred experience includes Bachelor's degree in accounting or business and experience with Banner financial system. Minimum qualification requires a high school diploma/GED plus four years of related experience; education can substitute for experience at a one-to-one ratio. Knowledge and skills include organizing, maintaining confidentiality, recordkeeping, word processing, and effective communication.
