Long Term Sub Librarian, St. Terese, Seattle JobID: 11019 Position Type: Substitute Long-Term Date Posted: 6/30/2026 Location: St. Therese Catholic Academy, Seattle Job Opening: Long Term Sub Librarian St. Therese Catholic Academy (STCA) seeks a long term Substitute Librarian for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a self-contained role as part of our specialists team, and would involve classes for preschool through eighth graders. Specific assignments for additional time will be determined based on school needs and candidates' strengths. STCA is a Preschool-8th grade Catholic elementary school in the heart of the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, just 2 miles east of downtown. St. Therese is a welcoming, diverse, and faith-filled community that has been igniting the faith, minds, and dreams of our students since 1927. The school currently serves 145 students ages 3-14, 35% of whom receive free/reduced lunch. Our families commute from over 32 zip codes to be a part of our community, and over 60% of our families receive tuition assistance. Our staff (the Dream Team) has about 28 team members and is expanding along with our enrollment. The long term sub Librarian position can also support core instruction in primary and middle grades, as well as opportunities to lead a middle school elective. Opportunities for collaboration, joint planning through the PLC process, and implementing creative new ideas exist and are welcome. The ideal candidate will bring passion, energy, faith, and a strong work ethic and enjoy partnering with colleagues and parents. The candidate must also desire to help students of varying ability levels succeed. We expect all team members to lead by example. Bachelor Degree in Education of similar field (Master's preferred) Understanding and genuine appreciation of children Desire to work in a racially and economically diverse, faith-centered community Ability to manage books, materials, and technology in a vibrant school library Effective communicator who can work collaboratively with staff, student, and parents, as well as organize book fairs and other library events Manage a classroom with respect and creativity Preferred active Catholic Current Washington (or out of state) teaching certificate (or the ability to obtain one) Range: $35,000 - $55,000 Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
