PLC Controls Maintenance Specialist

Location: Sacramento, CA | Compensation: $49.40–$50.39 per hour | Assignment: Temporary

A Day in the Role

Picture this: you arrive for your chosen shift—either a 4:00 AM Day start or a 2:30 PM Swing start—walk the line of highly automated equipment, and jump straight into solving real-time production challenges. One moment you’re tracing a control circuit to isolate a fault, the next you’re tweaking an Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix routine to stabilize throughput. You move between HMIs and SCADA screens, reference electrical schematics, and collaborate with operations to keep production humming and downtime to a minimum. Overtime opportunities are available when output ramps up.

What You’ll Tackle

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on PLC-controlled equipment
• Repair and optimize electrical and control systems across the facility
• Program and modify Allen‑Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix and CompactLogix)
• Support automated production machinery and improve line reliability
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and automation-related failures
• Work within HMIs and SCADA systems, including FactoryTalk, RS Linx, and Stratix switches
• Interpret and apply electrical schematics and blueprints
• Install, commission, and validate new industrial equipment
• Execute preventative maintenance and reliability routines
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Act quickly to reduce and prevent production downtime

Schedule

• Day Shift: 4:00 AM start
• Swing Shift: 2:30 PM start
• Overtime: Available as needed
• Assignment Type: Temporary

Qualifications You Bring

• 6+ years in industrial maintenance or controls
• Expert-level electrical troubleshooting
• Hands-on PLC troubleshooting
• Experience with Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix or CompactLogix
• HMI proficiency
• Strong ability to read and apply electrical schematics
• Background in industrial manufacturing environments

Bonus Skills

• Food manufacturing exposure
• Experience with automated production equipment
• SCADA and FactoryTalk familiarity
• Wonderware knowledge
• PID loop tuning
• Comfort operating forklifts and scissor lifts
• Industrial instrumentation experience
