Under the general supervision of the Area Operations Manager, the Wax Department Supervisor oversees day‑shift wax room operations with a focus on Safety, Quality, Throughput, and Cost. The supervisor leads and coaches wax production personnel, enabling sound decision‑making based on established wax procedures and production requirements. This role ensures performance targets are met by managing wax injection, pattern quality, workflow execution, and equipment usage. The supervisor identifies and resolves technical and operational issues related to wax tooling, injection parameters, pattern defects, and daily production flow while communicating effectively across teams. **Relocation assistance is offered for qualified candidates!** Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead a zero‑injury culture in the wax department through continuous improvement, safe work practices, and active employee engagement.
- Maintain daily communication with personnel to build trust and encourage proactive problem‑solving.
- Support lifesaving programs and identify improvements in wax injection, pattern handling, equipment use, and workflow.
- Drive ongoing improvements in wax‑room safety procedures to benefit both upstream and downstream operations.
- Make recommendations for hiring, onboarding, and termination processes for wax department employees.
- Provide leadership, feedback, performance reviews, advocate for wage adjustments, personnel assignments, training program management, and coaching to production teams and individuals within direct reporting structure.
- Oversee daily wax department operations, coordinating activities, monitoring production performance, and communicating progress to plan.
- Resolve operational issues by coordinating resources, identifying practical solutions, and applying established processes within the wax department.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, tooling, and maintenance to solve cross‑functional issues affecting pattern quality and downstream casting results.
- Lead and support improvement projects aimed at wax pattern quality, throughput, scrap reduction, and workflow optimization.
- Ensure wax patterns meet documented procedures, customer specifications, and quality standards, including correct machine setup and inspection.
- Responsible for team productivity, maintaining daily right-first-time performance measurements and leading/teaching problem-solving skills.
- Ensure on-time delivery and throughput of patterns according to dispatch lists, priorities, and production systems.
- Contribute to improved metrics that measure individual and team performance in safety, quality, output, and efficiency.
- Responsible for cost-effective optimization of equipment and labor through planning and appropriate scheduling of resources, team members, and production schedules to meet plan throughput.
- Lean and/or continuous improvement knowledge required.
- Pull production methodologies.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with applications such as Microsoft Suite.
- Managing team and individual performance and providing effective feedback.
- Coaching team members to encourage individual problem-solving.
- Work well-scoped projects from beginning to end.
- Convey concise written and verbal communication.
- Lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a lead or supervisor in a production environment required.
- Four-year degree in Business, Science, or Engineering preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check.
- Must be willing to participate in pre-employment drug screening.
- Day shift available.
- Must be willing/available to work/change shifts, as needed.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.
