Senior Mobile Developer

Lead the delivery of secure, intuitive mobile experiences that help people and businesses access essential financial services with confidence.

You will own important mobile experiences from discovery through release and continuous improvement. The role requires strong product judgment, disciplined engineering, and empathy for customers using financial tools across different devices, languages, levels of connectivity, and technical confidence.

What success looks like

• Ship dependable mobile improvements with clear acceptance criteria, testing evidence, release plans, and post-release monitoring.
• Improve application quality across stability, performance, accessibility, security, privacy, and low-connectivity behavior.
• Create clearer technical standards and reusable patterns that help the team deliver safely and consistently.
• Reduce recurring customer problems through disciplined diagnosis, prioritization, and root-cause resolution.

Responsibilities

• Own mobile features from customer and business discovery through technical design, implementation, testing, release, monitoring, and iteration.
• Partner with product, design, operations, compliance, and security to translate needs into secure, accessible, dependable experiences.
• Design maintainable application architecture, integrations, state management, error handling, and offline or low-connectivity behavior.
• Protect sensitive financial and identity data through appropriate platform security, privacy, storage, authentication, and logging practices.
• Establish high standards for code review, automated testing, performance, accessibility, observability, release readiness, and documentation.
• Investigate production issues urgently, communicate impact clearly, correct root causes, and improve prevention.
• Mentor peers and contribute practical improvements to estimation, delivery, and engineering decision-making.

Required qualifications

• A portfolio demonstrating substantial contributions to at least two live consumer mobile applications.
• Deep senior-level experience delivering polished, dependable mobile products in a high-accountability environment.
• Strong command of mobile architecture, API integration, testing, debugging, release management, and production support.
• Sound judgment on security, privacy, accessibility, performance, reliability, and customer experience.
• Ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly and collaborate with both technical and nontechnical colleagues.
• Evidence of owning outcomes beyond code completion, including quality, monitoring, adoption, or issue resolution.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in financial services, payments, identity, regulated products, emerging markets, or low-connectivity environments.
• Experience with multilingual and accessible product delivery.
• Washington, DC presence; remote candidates may be considered for truly exceptional experience and ownership.
