Low Voltage Technician (Contract-to-Hire)

We are seeking a Low Voltage Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial low-voltage systems throughout the Milwaukee and Kenosha areas, with occasional travel to surrounding locations.

This role is ideal for someone with experience installing and servicing access control systems, card readers, CCTV cameras, security systems, structured cabling, intercoms, paging systems, and commercial audio solutions. Candidates should be comfortable troubleshooting technical issues, working directly with customers, and operating independently in the field.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a growing organization that offers excellent long-term career potential. The position is expected to convert to a permanent employee, with a target salary range of $75,000-$85,000 annually, along with opportunities for continued professional growth and advancement.

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of low-voltage, security systems, or structured cabling experience

• Experience installing and troubleshooting:

• Access control systems and card readers

• CCTV and commercial security systems

• Intercom and paging systems

• Structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6, fiber)

• Commercial audio and audiovisual solutions

• Understanding of basic electrical concepts and circuitry

• Familiarity with troubleshooting using voltmeters and testing equipment

• Ability to read technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and installation plans

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Reliable transportation for travel between customer sites

• Ability to lift equipment, work on ladders, and perform hands-on installation work

Preferred Skills

• Cat5/Cat6 cabling and termination

• Punch-downs and cable testing

• Fiber optic installation and troubleshooting

• Wireless access points

• Video conferencing technologies

• Technical support and field service experience

• Knowledge of Ohm's Law and electrical troubleshooting principles

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
