Job Title: Production Laborer – Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling high‑quality microwave electronic components and subsystems in a clean, climate‑controlled manufacturing environment. You will read and interpret technical documentation, build cables and assemblies, use hand tools and soldering equipment, and complete necessary documentation to support consistent, reliable production for a long-term project running through April 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders, CAD prints or blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, assembly drawings, and schematic drawings, as well as follow clear verbal instructions for work assignments.
  • Assemble cables, circuit boards, subassemblies, and boxes used in microwave electronics according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Fasten parts and components using bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, and other mechanical fasteners to build complete assemblies.
  • Build crimp and solder‑form cables, ensuring proper connections, routing, and strain relief.
  • Use a variety of small hand tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, nut drivers, wire strippers, wire cutters, hand drills, wire crimpers, hammers, and punches, to perform daily assembly tasks.
  • Operate soldering irons to solder cables, wires, and related components in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Attach hardware, install seals, and complete final assembly steps to ensure products meet mechanical and functional requirements.
  • Examine parts, subassemblies, and finished products for defects, damage, or nonconformities and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Replace defective components and wiring as needed to restore assemblies to specification.
  • Prepare and complete all required paperwork and computer transactions, including basic data entry, to accurately document work performed and maintain production records.
  • Support production activities such as preparing shipments and coordinating schedules as needed to meet production and shipping timelines.
  • Adhere to established manufacturing, safety, and quality procedures while maintaining an organized and efficient workstation.
  • Work a consistent schedule that includes mandatory overtime each week and participation in a rotating schedule that supports seven‑day production.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly, including electrical or mechanical assembly, or demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD prints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, assembly drawings, and schematic drawings.
  • Proficiency with small hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, nut drivers, wire strippers, wire cutters, hand drills, wire crimpers, hammers, and punches.
  • Experience using soldering irons to solder cables, wires, and related components, or a strong willingness and aptitude to learn soldering techniques.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office tools, for tasks such as data entry and documentation.
  • General knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems or similar production/ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly, defect detection, and adherence to specifications.
  • Self‑starter mindset with the ability to work independently and maintain productivity with minimal supervision.
  • General organizational skills to manage work orders, tools, materials, and documentation efficiently.
  • Comfort working in a production environment that includes mandatory weekly overtime and a rotating schedule to support seven‑day operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience preparing shipments and coordinating schedules in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in using power tools safely and effectively in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation practices, including completing process sheets and electronic records.
  • Experience working in quiet, climate‑controlled, and highly organized production facilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with a friendly manufacturing team and communicate clearly about work status, issues, and improvements.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean, well‑lit, and climate‑controlled manufacturing facility designed to support focus and precision. Employees work at their own organized workstations in a quiet and calm setting, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment to assemble microwave electronic components. Standard hours begin on first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for the initial period, with an eventual transition to a schedule that includes one weekend day per week to support seven‑day production (for example, Wednesday–Sunday, Tuesday–Saturday, or Sunday–Thursday), with flexibility to determine the best option in coordination with the team. There is mandatory overtime of 10 hours each week. Employees may choose to take a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break or work through lunch and leave 30 minutes early, providing some flexibility in the daily schedule. The facility emphasizes organization, safety, and a supportive team culture, creating a stable environment for long‑term project work through April 2027.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
