Quality Engineer

Job Summary: Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities: • Oversees the maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System. • Coordinates and manages external ISO 9001 audits and certifications. • Investigates and diagnoses internal and external problem root causes and leads the corrective action process. • Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery. • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products. • Communicates quality standards and parameters to the production operations team and other appropriate staff. • Provides quality & manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests. • Assists and performs quality functions as needed. • Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action. • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally to all levels of Vontas and customers. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database experience. • Organized with attention to detail. • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Education and Experience: • Three years of experience with Quality Management Systems. • ISO 9001 experience preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer/laptop. • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (including domestic and international), sometimes for extended periods, which may involve sitting during transit and walking at various locations. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. • Must be able to handle high utilization of hand and wrist dexterity.
