Polk Internship Program

Polk Mechanical is a specialty mechanical sub‑contractor that focuses on pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, and ductwork – bringing to life all the projects we work on across commercial & industrial sectors. The Polk Internship Program (Summer 2026) is a paid summer work experience that lets students explore, experience, and engage with Polk Nation. The program is experience‑driven, blending on‑site job experience, self‑and‑social growth, and formal training opportunities. Interns finish the program armed with experience, exposure, and insight into what it takes to be successful within the mechanical construction industry. Below is a sneak‑peek into the main components of the program. Team Building Activities: fun outings that help bond and create memories with teammates and fellow interns. On‑the‑Job Workbook: the i3 Workbook is a roadmap specifically designed for aspiring Assistant Project Managers, covering tasks, concepts, and qualities needed for success. Field Trips: job‑site visits, vendor tours, and industry events provide hands‑on exploration. Intern Roundtable Discussions: regularly scheduled discussions allow interns to share experiences and feedback with peers and program coordinators. Professional Development Sessions: various formal training opportunities build business acumen and interpersonal skills. Location and Applicability: The internship is on‑site and in‑office. Most openings are based out of our DFW Headquarters at 2425 Dillard St., Grand Prairie, TX 75051 with limited opportunities in Houston and Austin. Preferences: We are currently looking for students in their Junior or Senior year of degree programs.
