The selected candidate could support both construction with the opportunity to some design and office work. We are looking for candidates that are eager to expand their knowledge base and grow their career. What You'll Do Perform construction observation duties on assigned projects Maintain records, construction quantities, checklists, daily reports, and documentation for construction administration projects in accordance with municipality requirements Communicate progress and questions from the field with senior design staff Design, develop, implement, and analyze engineering systems plan preparation that includes but is not limited to grading plans, erosion control plans, traffic control plans, pavement marking, street lighting, underground utility design, and pavement design Develop plans and specifications that comply with preexisting state and municipality requirements Demonstrate a wide degree of out-of-the-box thinking, creativity, and design ownership Perform work within both office and field settings What You'll Gain Practical experience applying classroom knowledge to engineering design Exposure to the consulting engineering environment and cross-disciplinary collaboration Mentorship from industry professionals A deeper understanding of the civil engineering challenges What We Expect from You Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering Working Knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley Open Roads Designer preferred Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills Must be able to work full-time during Summer 2027 Potential to continue internship through the school year based on performance and business needs Must have the ability to work in the Detroit Lakes, MN area Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S. As you consider applying for a position at Ulteig, we encourage you to think outside the box – because we do!
