Position Summary
The Safety Supervisor is a highly visible, people‑focused role responsible for building and sustaining a strong safety culture across plant operations. This individual serves as a culture builder and safety champion, engaging employees at all levels through daily interactions, safety meetings, training, and hands‑on support.
This individual will closely partner with plant leadership to proactively identify risks and implement practical, employee‑centered safety solutions; this could include but not limited to - leading safety meetings, conducting safety walks, facilitating ergonomic assessments, etc. This role is both preventative and responsive, ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership & Culture
- Serve as the on‑site safety champion, promoting a positive, proactive, and people‑first safety culture.
- Lead daily and weekly safety meetings, and shift‑level safety discussions.
- Actively engage employees on the production floor, encouraging open dialogue around hazards, near misses, and improvement ideas.
- Lead and facilitate the site Safety Committee, including agenda development, action tracking, and follow‑up.
Safety Walks, Audits & Risk Prevention
- Conduct daily safety walks and inspections, identifying hazards and partnering with leadership on corrective actions.
- Perform daily safety checks and maintain accurate documentation.
- Propose safety improvements, engineering controls, and behavioral‑based solutions to plant leadership.
- Assist with external site audits and visitors related to occupational health and safety
- Assist with internal safety audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and ensure governing processes, procedures, and training
Training, Education & Drills
- Coordinate and deliver safety education and training, including:
- New hire safety orientation
- Ergonomics awareness and proper body mechanics
- Job‑specific safety training
- Alchemy training program
- Conduct and document regular emergency drills (fire, ammonia, evacuation, etc..)
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with training requirements.
- Maintain visible safety signage throughout plant
Ergonomics & Wellness
- Perform ergonomic assessments and recommend adjustments to reduce strain and prevent injury.
- Partner with leadership and HR on wellness initiatives that support employee health, safety, and sustainability.
- Monitor trends in ergonomic risks and injury data to drive proactive intervention
Incident Management & Compliance
- Investigate workplace injuries, near misses, and safety incidents; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain OSHA compliance, including OSHA 300/300A logs and 801 forms.
- Manage Workers’ Compensation documentation and coordination, partnering with HR and leadership as needed.
- Support ADA accommodations related to workplace safety and physical limitations.
Administrative & Cross‑Functional Support
- Manage safety‑related documentation, records, and reporting.
- Assist with issuance and tracking of employee keys and badges.
- Maintain strong collaboration with HR, Operations, and Leadership teams.
- Maintain environmental monitoring program, ensuring compliance and permitting
- with all regulatory agencies
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to engage employees in meaningful safety conversations.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Understanding of Workers’ Compensation processes and injury documentation.
- Familiarity with ADA accommodations as related to workplace safety.
- Ability to conduct effective incident investigations and root‑cause analysis.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and follow‑through skills.
- Confident presenter and trainer with the ability to adapt messaging to diverse audiences.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a practical, solutions‑oriented approach.
Education & Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
- 4+ years of experience in a safety, operations, manufacturing, or related environment.
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or related field.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent presence on the production floor.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb stairs throughout the workday.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial equipment.

Salary:
- The estimated salary for this role is $70-$75K
- Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
