Our culture in Risk Management and Compliance is all about thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo and striving to be best-in-class.As an Analyst or Associate in Asset Management Risk, you will support the AM Investment Risk Team in managing investment risks across our portfolios within the Alternatives Business, with a primary focus on monitoring portfolios and highlighting emerging risks. Coverage area could cover Real Estate, Private Credit, etc. This position combines rigorous analysis with collaborative teamwork to support sound risk management practices. You will support proactive management of investment, liquidity, and counterparty risk based on ongoing, informed, and educated market observations with a focus on funds within the Real Estate and Private Credit Alternatives business. Working closely with investment teams and control functions, you will help develop and maintain understanding of risk profiles of funds and portfolios and contribute to the enhancement of risk oversight processes as the platform evolves. This role provides the opportunity to work on a global Alternatives platform where you will collaborate with experienced professionals and contribute to risk management practices in a growing business. We are looking for a professional who combines strong analytical capabilities with intellectual curiosity and an interest in Alternatives asset class and investment risk.Job ResponsibilitiesMeasure, monitor, and independently assess risks in investment activities; escalate issues and concerns to senior managementMonitor stress, performance, liquidity, and counterparty risk metrics against thresholds and perform deep-dive risk analysis on outliersCollaborate with investment, in-business, and independent risk teams to develop and maintain understanding of risk profiles of Alternative funds and portfoliosSupport improvements to transparency and infrastructure for capturing and reporting risk exposuresIdentify and highlight emerging risks across portfolios, assessing potential impact to the businessLook for innovation opportunities in risk oversight processes, policies, and procedures for Investment, Liquidity and Counterparty Risk, ensuring compliance is maintainedRequired Qualifications, Capabilities, and SkillsBachelor's degree required3+ years of experience in financial services industry related to trading, portfolio management, risk management, and/or investment risk across asset classesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills; inquisitive nature and comfortable in challenging current practicesStrong quantitative skills with curiosity and ability to pursue analysis and deep dive risk reviews independentlyPrior experience with coding and data visualization tools such as Python, SQL & TableauSolid communication and interpersonal skills for effective business interactionPreferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and SkillsPost-graduate degree or additional certifications such as CFA or CAIABuy-side and alternatives experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with modeling and working knowledge of portfolio valuations and risk systemsFamiliarity with market risk methodologies, including, stress testing, and sensitivitiesExperience in alternatives risk JPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
