Position Description: The Lead Interior Designer has responsibility for the execution of the project's interior design, including the development of all project deliverables. Plans and develops one medium to large project or multiple small projects and works under the minimal supervision of a PM or Senior Designer, and PIC. The Lead Interior Designer is responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. This responsibility may be shared/divided with a Senior Interior Designer, depending on how the project team is structured. A Lead Interior Designer exhibits leadership both within OZ and outside of OZ to achieve project goals. The Lead Interior designer serves as the primary consultant coordinator or may share the responsibility on larger teams to monitor project progress and ensure the Interior Design is fully coordinated with all consultants and architecture.The Lead Interior Designer assumes a Leadership role in the design process, either alone or in a shared leadership role with the Senior Interior Designer, depending on how the team is structured. It is understood that there are some leadership overlaps among the Lead Interior Designer, Senior Interior Designer, Arch III, and Architectural PM roles, so responsibilities must be discussed and clearly defined early on in each project.Qualifications:Bachelor 's Degree in Interior Design or equivalent and eight (8+) years of interior design experience. NCIDQ certification preferred. Proficient in Revit Modeling. Knowledgeable of graphic programs (such as Adobe Acrobat, Sketch-up, InDesign, and Photoshop) and has proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The Lead Interior Designer has acquired the knowledge, experience and skills of the Interior Designer 2.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Lead interior design teams, coordinate workflow, delegate tasks, and establish effective communication and project protocols.Meet with clients to understand needs, develop design solutions, and present concepts for approval.Review project scope, contracts, budgets, and schedules to ensure the team understands requirements and stays on track.Develop programming, space planning, concepts, and design solutions aligned with client goals.Oversee accurate and coordinated drawings, specifications, and project deliverables; review and redline documentation as needed.Coordinate interior design with architecture and consultants, including MEP, acoustical, and other disciplines.Lead quality control reviews and ensure comments and coordination issues are resolved.Participate in construction budget discussions and develop value engineering solutions.Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, ADA requirements, and project standards.Manage Revit, construction documentation, graphic design, and BIM workflows in accordance with OZ standards; mentor junior staff on best practices.Lead FFE design and selection through bidding, ensuring alignment with client and project requirements.Manage construction administration and related services in accordance with contractual requirements and project timelines.Support business development efforts, including interviews, client presentations, and relationship building.Develop new client opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.Uphold OZ standards for design excellence, execution, sustainability, and design for wellbeing.How to Apply: Please submit your online application with an uploaded resume and portfolio for your application to be complete.
