Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support within a Physiatry outpatient clinic, assisting disabled adult patients and supporting a variety of specialized services including nerve conduction studies, EMG diagnostic testing, and Botox injections for pain management. The role requires collaboration with providers, accurate documentation using EPIC, and delivering compassionate care to patients with complex physical needs. Experience in Physiatry and working with physically handicapped populations is preferred. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with a 13-week contract leading to potential full-time employment. Responsibilities:

• Assist providers with patient care activities and procedures in the Physiatry clinic.
• Support diagnostic testing such as nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG).
• Prepare patients for Botox injections and other treatments related to pain management.
• Document patient information accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records.
• Provide physical assistance to patients with disabilities as needed during clinic visits.
• Coordinate patient flow and ensure clinic operations run smoothly.
• Maintain clinical equipment and supplies in the outpatient setting.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient care.
• Float within skillset to support various clinic needs as required.

• Current Medical Assistant certification: MA-C or MA-R (MA-R must be endorsed by a provider).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in adult outpatient clinics, preferably with disabled or handicapped populations.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Knowledge of healthcare terminology and clinical procedures relevant to Physiatry.
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.

• Experience specifically in Physiatry or related rehabilitation medicine.
• Familiarity with specialized clinics such as ALS, Amputee Clinic, Wound Clinic, or MDA Care Center.

• Must be open to a term-to-perm employment model, completing a 13-week contract before potential full-time hire.
• No weekend or on-call requirements.
• Must confirm availability for scheduled interviews; failure to attend may disqualify candidate from future positions.
• Clinician must have reliable personal transportation due to clinic location and commute considerations.

• Standard schedule of five 8-hour day shifts per week.
• Shift assignments are day shifts with no weekend work required.
• Floating to other duties within skillset may be necessary as clinic needs arise.
