Kenai Peninsula College is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Information Technology Specialist to join the team at its Kachemak Bay Campus in Homer, Alaska.

The KBC Information Technology Specialist position provides technical support to staff, faculty and students, and maintains the equipment to ensure a quality IT services experience on the Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College. This position reports directly to the KPC IT Services Manager.

To thrive in this role you should be a natural problem-solver with a strong foundation in deploying, configuring, and maintaining desktop hardware, AV equipment, and campus network infrastructure. Success in this position requires a blend of technical expertise—including the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues—and exceptional interpersonal communication skills to deliver top-tier customer service to our diverse community of students, faculty, staff, vendors, and outside organizations. You must be highly organized, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a directed team structure, and eager to continuously learn and adapt to new communication technologies. Additionally, the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation) is required to manage equipment effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Information Technology or other related field) and 2 years experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

An unrestricted Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.

Position Details:

This position is located on Kenai Peninsula College's Kachemak Bay Campus in Homer Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 78, starting at $25.55 based on education and experience.
