Job Type: Direct Hire
Shift: 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay Range: $19–$23/hour (based on experience)

Employment Solutions is seeking a Set-Up Operator – 1 for a direct hire opportunity in Farmington, CT . This role is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating relatively complex machinery to manufacture a wide variety of parts that meet precise quality standards.

• Set up, adjust, and operate departmental machinery.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of machines throughout the shift.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments to machine tools as needed.
• Remove old tooling from machinery and install/secure new tooling.
• Monitor production to ensure parts meet quality and productivity standards.
• Maintain adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
• Observe processes and make recommendations for improvement.
• Assist or train other personnel as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain reliable, consistent attendance (an essential function of the job).

Education & Experience

• High School or Trade School graduate, or equivalent experience.
• Good mechanical aptitude and hands-on machine experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Good mechanical skills and problem-solving ability.
• Good communication skills.
• Familiarity with basic gauges (e.g., plug gauges) for inspection and measurement.

• Visual ability (with correction, if needed) to read directions, prints, and closely inspect parts to verify specifications.
• Manual dexterity to operate machinery and perform precision work.
• Ability to perform work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
• Ability to lift objects from lower to higher positions or move them horizontally as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted .
