Logistics Management Specialist

LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (EO/IR 2026-25531) Bowhead seeks a Logistician with a Technical Writing skillset to provide Life Cycle Logistics support for current Electro‑Optic Infrared (EO/IR) research and development projects at the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane Division (NSWC‑Crane). The role includes project management support such as coordination of operations, management of records, schedules, analytical support, deliverables tracking, task management, and milestone development. Essential Functions Material management and tracking, including documentation for ordering and incoming material and lab inventory organization. Inventory and shipping/receiving logistics support for projects and field test events. Coordinate with other component/program logisticians for asset receipt, issue, transfer, or other dual‑reporting functions. Conduct research and prepare documentation to ensure new material is properly cataloged in compliance with ERP and OM&S requirements. Collaborate with lab engineers and technicians to develop lab technical manuals, training manuals, and standard operating procedures for prototypes undergoing CONOP development. Obtain and maintain Hazard Analysis certification via NSWC‑Crane training. Obtain and maintain Non‑Ordnance SOP Writing certification via NSWC‑Crane training. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 1–5 years of relevant experience. Experience in logistics and ability to produce technical documents, including SOPs, test plans, and instructional guidance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong communication skills at all levels and with external contacts. Good interpersonal skills, judgment, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical Demands Lift up to 25 pounds. Stand and walk for prolonged periods. Twist, bend, and squat periodically. Travel Expected travel is four times annually for periods of two weeks each. Security Clearance Requirements Must obtain a Secret level clearance.
