Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Neurology unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4, caring for neuro post-surgical, post-craniotomy, spine, and CVA/post-TPA patients
• Interpret EKGs and monitor patients via centralized telemetry system
• Collaborate with hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy staff available around the clock to coordinate patient care
• Work alongside Patient Care Technicians and a Charge Nurse (no patient assignment) as well as a Clinical Supervisor in a management role
• Adhere to every-other-weekend scheduling requirement
• Maintain strict sterile field techniques; competency will be assessed on the first day of orientation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry or neurology nursing experience (within the past 6 months)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated ability to interpret EKGs and identify dysrhythmias; must pass a dysrhythmia exam (via RELIAS) within 48 hours of offer (maximum 2 attempts)
• Proficiency in sterile field techniques; must pass a Pass/Fail competency exam on day 1 of orientation
• COVID-19 vaccination required, or approved religious/medical declination with appropriate documentation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience caring for neuro post-surgical, post-craniotomy, or CVA patient populations
• Familiarity with centralized telemetry monitoring environments
• Experience working in a unit supported by 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services
