Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an ICU setting License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CCRN preferred Description: The position requires a skilled nursing professional with experience in cardiovascular care. The role involves providing care to patients aged 16 and older with primary cardiac diagnoses. Patients may include those with heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, and those undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries. Experience with specific procedures such as IABP therapy, Impella insertion, pacemaker insertion, and arrhythmias is necessary. The unit is a blended unit, incorporating both intensive care and intermediate care beds. A strong background in cardiovascular medicine is essential. Nurses in this role will be expected to manage complex patient needs and utilize advanced technology. The multidisciplinary team approach emphasizes collaboration to ensure excellent patient care. Training programs are available to support nurses in the continuous development of their skills. Preferred candidates will have advanced certifications and a commitment to mentoring and growth in specialty training. Primary responsibilities include patient assessment, critical care interventions, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication and organizational skills will be vital in managing patient care effectively. This position involves an expectation to float between units and may include handling high-acuity patients.
