FSU/Lee Health is seeking an Internal Medicine/Transitional Year Faculty Physician to support the FSU College of Medicine's Internal Medicine and Transitional Year Residency Program!

Lee Health is a nonprofit organization with more than 17,000 employees, 4,500 volunteers, and more than 1,200 employed primary care and specialty providers with multiple practice locations throughout Southwest Florida. The organization has four acute care hospitals and one specialty hospital that together house over 1,800 hospital beds.

Gulf Coast Medical Center at Lee Health, in partnership with Florida State University, is launching a new 16:16:16 Internal Medicine Residency Program, and we are seeking trailblazing physicians to join our faculty. We are at the dawn of a new GME Academic Enterprise, with new programs in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, and multiple fellowships launching alongside us, building on the success of well-established programs at sister facilities in the Lee Health System.

Faculty positions are available at both Gulf Coast Medical Center campus and the established Cape Coral campus in order to support the overall Academic Center growth and expansion. You will be an integral part of shaping our vision, designing an innovative curriculum, and mentoring our growing cohort of Internal Medicine residents. Specialized opportunities in Sports Medicine, Obstetrics, and Palliative Care may also be available for the right candidate.

Position Information:

Lee Physician Group is seeking an Internal Medicine Faculty/Transitional Year Physician to provide clinical patient care and be responsible to teach and advise family medicine residents. Candidates for this position will be experts in evaluating competencies and will work closely with the Program Director and Associate Program Director to develop and implement a resident evaluation system.

During training, residents will participate in a broad-based program of graduate medical education in multiple clinical disciplines within the supportive environment and close-knit community of Cape Coral and Lee Health. Due to a shortage of physicians in Southwest Florida, we hope that our residents will have such an exceptional experience here that our graduates would consider staying in the area to practice or, after completion of their advanced training programs, that our graduates would consider returning to the area to practice.

• Passionate Educators : Board-certified Internal Medicine Physicians (MD/DO) with a creative spirit and a fierce commitment to training the next generation.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida, or ability to obtain this prior to start date
• Graduate of an accredited Residency Program in Internal Medicine
• Clear, unrestricted DEA
• Must comply with all ACGME core faculty requirements
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS credentials through the American Heart Association

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching, supervising, and evaluating internal medicine residents using real time face to face feedback
• Participate in remediation of residents
• Participate in resident's Didactic conferences including M&M, EMB, journal club, daily morning report, noon conferences as a lecturer, etc
• Faculty physicians will dedicate an average of 15 hours per week to the program
