Chief Financial Officer

the client is seeking a CFO - Chief Financial Officer for a for-profit organization that provides workforce development services and is financed through government grants at the state and local levels. The role will provide overall financial leadership, direction, and management to a team of six finance professionals, while partnering with company leadership to shape financial strategy and recommendations that support organizational goals. The CFO will manage end-to-end financial planning and performance, including forecasting, budgeting, and preparation of financial reporting. The position is expected to present monthly EBITDA and supporting schedules to the parent organization, oversee cash flow management with weekly updates to management, monitor and manage monthly departmental KPIs, and review aging receivables with an emphasis on collections and outreach. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and updating formal accounting procedures, supervising property and liability insurance coverage, preparing tax schedules for external tax accountants, managing banking relationships, and overseeing the annual external audit and any required funder audits. Key requirements include a CPA and experience relevant to government contracting. Experience with grant-funded cost allocations is expected, along with strong Excel skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Additional qualifications include a background in acquisition integration (as the company has made an acquisition) and familiarity with workforce development, with demonstrated ability to engage staff across levels, exercise sound judgment, and maintain strong interpersonal and stakeholder relationships. The CFO will also support HR with finance-related matters and oversee IT function responsibilities by managing the VP of Technology. Confidential
