Senior Cost Control Specialist / Cost Manager

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cost Control Specialist / Cost Manager to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA .

Your Role

• Track and analyze project costs, including approved budgets, commitments, actual expenditures, accruals, and forecasts.

• Prepare and manage monthly accruals, ensuring costs are accurately recorded and forecasted in coordination with project teams and vendors.

• Prepare monthly forecasts and variance explanations, highlighting key cost drivers, trends, risks, and corrective actions.

• Coordinate monthly forecasting reviews with project managers and discipline leads to validate remaining work, commitments, and forecast assumptions.

• Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders; monitor commitments and validate contractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract requirements.

• Facilitate the evaluation and processing of change orders and funding requests.

• Support capital project closeout activities, including final cost reporting, reconciliation of commitments, and placement of assets into service.

• Assist with the annual capital budgeting process.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in project controls or cost management .

• Experience supporting energy sector projects is preferred.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel .

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, discipline leads, contractors, and vendors.
