Operations Manager

Eaton’s D-IT Division is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team in Worcester, MA. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing, directing, planning and coordinating the manufacturing activities of both feeder and assembly sections to meet plant objectives and sales goals. You will determine the effect of production load changes on plant operations, adjust capacities to meet production requirements, review plant‑operating practices to maintain or enhance production and quality standards, ensure an appropriate working climate, and advise employees on company benefits, plant policy and regulations. The expected annual salary range for this role is $113,000 – $165,000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you’ll do: Be in consistent contact with the Plant Manager and his staff, participate in planning and decision making concerning financial and operational problems, inventory control, plant policy, facility/maintenance issues, and staffing. Recommend budgets and control expenditures, and suggest wage or salary adjustments. Operate and organize facilities and equipment in line with company policies and procedures and enforce safe practice standards, maintaining a clean work environment. Support the identification, development, and implementation of new manufacturing methods, equipment, material planning, quality improvement, and Lean and Six Sigma methods. Lead 100‑150 employees through front line supervisors to produce standard and engineered-to-order products, resulting in $50M‑80M in annual sales. Provide coaching, motivation, and counseling to supervisors and direct reports to encourage optimum performance and continued skill development. Be accountable for daily operational performance indicators, taking appropriate actions to ensure safety, quality, schedule, cost, and productivity goals are met. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an Operations or Manufacturing environment. Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience. You will set yourself apart by demonstrating some or all of the following: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business. Master’s degree or MBA from an accredited institution. Experience with Lean/Six Sigma. Experience leading Continuous Improvement initiatives. Direct managerial experience within an Operations or Manufacturing environment. Highly preferred experience utilizing DMM. General knowledge of Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS). We will not consider candidates who: No relocation is being offered for this role.
