Role Description The Criminal Defense Attorney will provide comprehensive legal representation to clients facing criminal charges, including misdemeanors and felonies, in state and federal courts. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, evaluating case facts, conducting legal research, drafting motions and briefs, negotiating with prosecutors, and appearing in court for hearings, trials, and sentencings. The role involves developing defense strategies, advising clients on legal options and risks, managing case files and deadlines, and collaborating with colleagues and staff to deliver efficient, effective representation. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Fishers, IN, requiring consistent in-person interaction with clients, courts, and the firm’s legal team. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Criminal Defense Law, Criminal Defense, and Criminal Law, with experience handling a range of criminal matters. Strong foundation in Law and legal ethics, with a commitment to high-quality advocacy and client service. Proficient in legal Research, including case law analysis, statutory interpretation, and preparation of legal memoranda. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license (or eligibility for licensure) to practice law in Indiana. Prior courtroom experience, including motion practice, jury trials, and plea negotiations, preferably in criminal matters. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly to clients and courts. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff, while maintaining professional judgment and independence.
