About the School: St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School (STA) serves students in Pre‑K through 8th grade. The mission of the school emphasizes academic excellence, spiritual growth, and social‑emotional well‑being, rooted in a tradition that values community service, stewardship, and kinship within Dallas and beyond. Major Responsibilities and Duties Personnel Responsibilities Work with the President regarding contracted salary amounts based on approved budget forms. Communicate annual diocesan benefit information to employees and assist them with Human Resource needs. Be responsible for on‑boarding and off‑boarding employees. Submit payroll to vendor. Ensure all reports are completed on their due dates. Collaborate with the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School Parent Association, committees, and related organizations. Accounting Responsibilities Prepare an annual budget for the school with input from the President and School Advisory Council. Maintain income and expense records for all school departments and additional income sources. Maintain records for all fundraising functions. Prepare monthly budget reports for the Parish Finance Council, President, and School Advisory Council. Respond promptly to payment requests from outside vendors for services or products purchased. Monitor accuracy of accounts payable requests. Respond to other financial or personnel requests from the President. Assess proposed lease options for equipment purchases. Set up family tuition agreements in FACTS, handle incidental billing, and collect delinquent accounts. Prepare diocesan and other financial reports, including credit applications. Reconcile bank statements and report irregularities to the President. Prepare for annual financial review/audit. Professional Growth & Personal Skills Participate in the Diocese of Dallas Association of Parish & School Business Managers and other relevant financial organizations. Demonstrate professionalism, good decision‑making, and efficient work practices. Show enthusiasm for acquiring and sharing new skills, strategies, and resources to improve community effectiveness. Follow guidelines set forth in the Diocese of Dallas Accounting and Finance Policies and Procedures Handbook. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred). QuickBooks and Bill.com experience preferred.
