This position involves providing comprehensive care in a busy birthing center, including attending deliveries independently, circulating during cesarean sections, assisting with newborn catch and transition, and supporting high-risk maternal patients. Candidates must bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details

• Location: Silverdale, Washington
• Schedule: Days shift, 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); must have or be willing to wait for license submission; minimum of 2 years of experience preferred, but will consider individuals with less experience supported by prior travel history; experience with Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP), and Neonatal Intensive Care is necessary.
• Additional Information: The unit handles 150-180 births per month with approximately 34 beds consisting of suites suitable for cesarean sections, triage beds, and postpartum beds. The patient demographic includes high-risk pregnancies at 33 weeks and above, with diagnoses such as preeclampsia, diabetes, psychosocial issues, and positive substance use. RNs are expected to titrate drips including magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin. The department has 24/7 in-house OB/Neonatologist, anesthesia, and neonatal nurse practitioner support. Support staff include one surgical tech per shift and patient care assistants. The unit utilizes EPIC electronic medical records and Centricity perinatal electronic fetal monitoring systems. Shifts are typically 12 hours with block scheduling upon request, rotating every other weekend, with call or standby responsibilities requiring a response time of 45 minutes. The unit emphasizes flexibility to adapt to workflows, policies, and procedures. Professional dress code includes scrubs provided with a locker available. Orientation includes 8 hours of compliance and EPIC training, plus 2-3 shifts of unit-specific training. Floating is limited to the mother-baby and postpartum units only.
