South Pointe Hospital’s Surgery Center conducts a wide variety of surgical procedures, such as general, ortho, gynecologic, urologic, vascular, and more, providing patients with top-quality patient care. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be caring for patients in the pre- and post-anesthesia care units. Some of your daily responsibilities will include completing nursing assessments, obtaining vital signs, inserting IVs, and administering medications. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.  + on- call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

\n
• Provide direct nursing care. 
\n

\n
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.  
\n

\n
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.  
\n
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
\n

\n
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  
\n

\n
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 
\n
• Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
\n
• Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol 
\n

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n
• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)   
\n

\n
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  
\n

\n
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
\n
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience 
\n

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

\n
• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
\n

Physical Requirements:

\n
• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
\n
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
\n
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
\n
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
\n
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
\n
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
\n
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
\n

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
\n

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
