Registered Nurse (RN) Perioperative ORAndrews ASC is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our perioperative OR team. This position plays a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care throughout the surgical process. This position is responsible for managing individualized, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with departmental policies, state regulations, AAAHC standards, and facility protocols. The OR RN maintains clinical competency in perioperative nursing, supports a collaborative surgical team environment, and ensures the efficient use of supplies and equipment. This role operates under the general supervision of the OR Manager and OR Charge Nurse, contributing to excellence in surgical services across all phases of care.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Surgical SupportMaintain strict aseptic technique and ensure sterile field integrityAssist with surgical setup, including equipment assembly and sterile pack preparationPosition patients, prep operative sites, and verify procedure details with the surgical teamSupport anesthesia team with intubation/extubation and patient monitoringConduct surgical counts and document care per policyHandle specimens appropriately and dispose of sharps/supplies safelyAdvocate for patient rights and collaborate with interdisciplinary teamsAdminister and label medications and fluids accuratelyMonitor infection control practices and maintain a surgically clean environmentPerform pre-op assessments, develop nursing care plans, and evaluate post-op outcomesDaily Operations & DocumentationParticipate in cross-training and committee involvementAnalyze clinical documentation for compliance with facility policiesServe as liaison among patients, families, and medical staffRespond to emails and communications in a timely mannerPromote a positive and professional work cultureMaterials ManagementApply cost-effective practices and monitor equipment careAssist in evaluating supply needs and physician preferencesMaintain inventory levels and rotate sterile supplies appropriatelyQualificationsRequiredAssociate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)Active RN license in the state of FloridaCurrent BLS and CPR certificationsStrong ethical character and professional communication skillsProficiency in written, verbal, and electronic communication in EnglishExperience in ambulatory surgery or operating room settingsPreferredAt least 2 years of operating room experienceBenefits:Health Insurance with FREE Teladoc servicesDental, Vision, & Supplemental Insurance401 (k)Paid Time OffLocation: Andrews Ambulatory Surgery Center – Gulf Breeze, FLDepartment: Operating RoomReports To: Operating Room ManagerEmployment Type: Full-Time**ANDREWS IS A TOBACCO FREE WORKPLACE**The Andrews Institute ASC (AIASC) is committed to promoting health, wellness, and disease prevention and to providing a safe, clean and healthy environment to Workforce Members, patients, and visitors.
