Bring your sign language expertise to a dynamic school-based setting supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. A contract opportunity is available for a professional Sign Language Interpreter near New Haven, IN. In this position, you’ll play a key role in facilitating communication and fostering an inclusive educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver interpreting services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing during classroom lessons, meetings, school activities, and events
• Bridge communication between students, educators, staff, and peers to promote meaningful participation
• Collaborate closely with teachers and special education professionals to address student needs and IEP accommodations
• Support students in fully accessing educational content and engaging with their learning environment
• Adhere to professional standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies

Qualifications:

• Hold a recognized Sign Language Interpreter certification or appropriate credentials
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred, but not required
• Excellent expressive and receptive sign language skills
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-collaboration abilities
• Flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to supporting student success
