CNC Process Engineer

Major Duties and Responsibilities Plan, design, develop CNC manufacturing process for current and future components production as well as production of tooling. Design processes and equipment related to the manufacturing of products or services that are cost effective at approved levels of quality and within quoted specifications. Implement process designs, creating prototypes, testing, making necessary modifications where required. Assess safety requirements and ensure these are integrated into the process. Work closely with other professionals on development and research projects. Integrate new technology or environmentally friendly practices into existing processes. Additional Responsibilities Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in the field. Develop and conduct training programs on the safe operations of the equipment, and demonstrate skills to trainees, including both team members and customers. Negotiate price, terms, and conditions with outside suppliers used to meet project needs. Develop models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications of system components and recommend implementation of improved procedures. Provide detailed documentation of a job including tool and fixture drawings, definition of setup, and operational procedures. Required Skill/Knowledge A solid foundation in engineering concepts is a vital Process Engineer requirement. Knowledge of the product or services and the industry in which he/she is operating. Familiarity with OSHA and EPA principles. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail. Project management, leadership and teamwork skills are important to ensure that all factors come together to complete an assignment on time. Preferred Skills/ Knowledge Experience requirements vary according to job requirements and industry. Certifications may include Professional Engineer Licence (P.Eng), Certified Professional Engineer (PE), Six Sigma qualifications and Project Management Professional (PMP). Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus. Proficient with AutoCad or similar programs. Education Level / Required Certification A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related science field. Problem Solving Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
