Community Engagement Liaison – Central Region The Community Engagement Liaison serves as the primary bridge between Aligned Data Centers’ operations and host communities, acting as a trusted resource for education and engagement while providing a vital feedback loop to internal teams. Candidate must be based within or willing to travel between Aligned’s central region markets, dedicating at least three (3) days per week to in‑person engagement with community stakeholders. Core Responsibilities Serve as the link between Aligned and host communities, managing local relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain a proactive feedback loop with local residents, organizations, media, leaders, and NGOs, acting as an accessible resource and internal advocate. Educate the community on Aligned’s developments, building trust and highlighting local value. Collaborate cross‑functionally (Community Engagement Lead, development, energy, government/public affairs, communications, operations) to develop and execute engagement strategies. Synthesize community feedback into actionable insights for project planning. Translate technical data into clear, accessible messaging for the public. Represent Aligned at community events, council meetings, hearings, and open houses. Partner with communications to develop proactive messaging addressing concerns and benefits. Monitor community sentiment and advise on risks and opportunities. Manage and update the community engagement playbook and digital workflow. Coordinate with People & Culture and Academy teams on local workforce development and education initiatives. Required Skills and Qualifications 5 to 10+ years in community relations, public affairs, local government, real estate development, or strategic communications (experience in data centers, energy, or large‑scale infrastructure is a strong advantage). Ability to distill complex engineering, environmental, or technical data into clear, relatable messaging for non‑technical audiences. Exceptional public speaking and interpersonal skills, with a track record of speaking in front of town halls, zoning boards, and community meetings. Active listening skills and high emotional intelligence, providing a respectful platform for concerns while maintaining a constructive environment. Proven ability to synthesize community feedback into actionable, strategic insights for internal teams. History of proactively identifying and cultivating strong alliances with local leaders, neighborhood associations, and business advocacy groups. Strong capacity to navigate sensitive public issues, mitigate friction, and uphold the organization’s local reputation. Demonstrated success aligning project development goals with tangible community investments, such as workforce, education, and infrastructure programs.
