Job Details

Key Responsibilities & Duties
Deliver technical training programs within Electric Substation Operations and Maintenance.
Facilitate classroom, virtual, hands-on, and field-based training utilizing blended learning methodologies.
Design, develop, maintain, and update technical training materials and curricula.
Create and revise work procedures, checklists, job aids, and operating methods.
Partner with Safety, Engineering, Operations, and Training teams to review new and revised procedures.
Support implementation of new utility technologies and associated workforce training.
Develop equipment mock-ups and practical simulations for technical training.
Conduct technical evaluations, qualification assessments, and testing.
Monitor and maintain employee learning records, qualifications, and training compliance.
Lead presentations, committee participation, roadshows, and process improvement initiatives.
Act as technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for substation operations.
Research industry best practices and incorporate emerging technologies into training programs.
Support emergency restoration efforts and storm response activities.
Participate in emergency on-call rotation if assigned.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, and safety requirements.

Qualifications Needed
Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Discipline or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
Associate, Specialist, Senior, or Lead level experience depending on qualifications.
Minimum 2-7+ years of Electric Utility experience (Journeyman equivalent preferred).
Experience supporting Electric Substation Operations and Maintenance activities.
Strong background developing and delivering technical training programs.
Experience writing procedures, work methods, job aids, and operational documentation.
Knowledge of utility safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience facilitating classroom and hands-on technical instruction.
Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to various audiences.
Proven ability to develop training materials supporting field operations.
Experience administering assessments, qualifications, and training records.

Preferred
Advanced technical writing skills.
Strong presentation and facilitation experience.
Subject Matter Expert-level technical knowledge.
Proficiency with Switching and Tagging Procedures.
Experience utilizing:
Transformer Turns Ratio Testing
Power Factor Testing
Travel Analyzer Testing
Hi-Pot Testing
Micro-Ohm Testing
Circuit Breaker Timing Testing
