Human Resource Business Partner
Location: Austin, Texas (Onsite)
Summary: The HR Business Partner (HRBP) plays an important role in supporting the human resource capabilities within a growing, multi-site organization. This position is responsible for supporting the HR Director in a wide range of activities, including, but not limited to, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits administration, payroll, and compliance related to labor laws and regulations. This person must be highly collaborative, well organized, flexible, a critical thinker, and possess excellent attention to detail. The HRBP is expected to work independently while remaining open to guidance. This role requires a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information. The HRBP serves as a trusted resource for employees, providing guidance and support in all HR-related matters.
This role acts as a trusted advisor and strategic consultant to executive and operational leaders across a growing organization. The HRBP partners closely with the HR Director and functional leadership to align talent and people strategies with operational priorities, driving organizational effectiveness, talent strategy, and culture. This position delivers high-impact, data-informed HR solutions that advance operational excellence, support a positive employee experience, and contribute to the organization’s overall growth and success. The HRBP is expected to be a proactive driver of solutions across all aspects of the human resources function.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & HR Partnership
- Maintain a visible and accessible presence to managers and staff to support employee relations, reinforce HR availability, and build trust across departments.
- Provide support, in consultation with the HR Director, on employee relations matters and employee concerns. Attend, document, and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Serve as a trusted resource to managers and employees by providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Drive full-cycle recruitment and facilitate the hiring process, including posting internal and external open positions, coordinating new hire orientation, reviewing and adjudicating background checks, drafting offer letters, and supporting additional employee lifecycle activities as assigned.
- Assist in, or lead, HR initiatives, including the design of recruitment tools and the evaluation of vendors, to enhance overall HR strategies and operational effectiveness.
HR Operations & Administration
- Utilize the HRIS platform to maintain employee personnel files and information such as personal data, compensation, job descriptions, performance reviews, promotions, leaves of absence, disciplinary documentation, hire and termination letters, and other HR-related records in compliance with federal guidelines.
- Provide subject matter expertise and coaching to team members on employee and manager self-service functionality within the HRIS platform.
- Create and maintain HR-related materials such as SOPs, guides, and online reference resources, with a focus on operational efficiency and training effectiveness.
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support
- Support employee benefit programs and assist with open enrollment and benefits-related inquiries.
- Provide backup support to payroll operations and develop functional knowledge necessary to accurately execute payroll processes.
Performance Management & Organizational Support
- Support the HR Director in coordinating performance evaluation and tracking processes, including maintaining timelines, managing documentation, and assisting managers and employees with evaluation tools and systems.
- Support organizational initiatives and people strategies that drive operational effectiveness, employee engagement, and overall business performance.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Human Resources
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of human resources functions such as recruitment, onboarding, data management, reporting/KPIs, employee relations, and employee support.
- Competence in using standard office software and virtual meeting platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
