POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Concrete Scheduling Manager, the concrete dispatcher is responsible to answer phone calls and gather information as well as learn the responsibilities of order-taking and dispatching. DUTIES: Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values. Maintain open communication with customers. Receive phone orders, gather pertinent information, and enter it into dispatch program. Continually monitor demand, dispatch delivery trucks, and verify each load. Assist customers in problem resolution. Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts. Maintain insurable driving record. Ensure a safe and healthy work environment at all times. QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sedentary work & light physical work: exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally. Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other types of equipment. Speaking/Listening: Needs to be able to communicate effectively with customers, supervision, drivers, and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements. Working Conditions: Most of the time is spent in an air-conditioned office environment.
