Key Responsibilities Of The Controller Lead all accounting and financial operations, including the general ledger and monthly/year-end close Prepare and present accurate financial reports for leadership, funders, and stakeholders Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and program-level financial planning Oversee compliance with GAAP and federal/state regulations, including audits and Form 990 Manage, mentor, and develop finance staff while improving processes and controls Qualifications Of The Controller Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA/CPA preferred) Strong nonprofit accounting and compliance experience Proven ability to lead close processes and manage a finance team Clear communicator with a hands-on, practical leadership style
