Registered Nurse - Infusion

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Infusion RN provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing infusion therapy, including chemotherapy and other injectable treatments. The role involves collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Administer infusion therapies and monitor patient responses throughout treatment sessions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and patient progress in the electronic medical record.
• Ensure all clinical equipment, such as blood warmers and ultrasound-guided IV machines, are properly utilized and maintained.
• Comply with all institutional policies, including pass/fail EKG exams and medication protocols for oncology patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans and address any adverse reactions.
• Educate patients on treatment procedures, safety measures, and post-infusion care instructions.

Qualifications:

• Valid, active RN license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 1 year of infusion center and outpatient oncology experience required.
• Proficient in EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Certified in BLS and ONS/ONCC; ACLS and OCN preferred.
• Experienced with procedural tasks such as bone marrow aspirations and intrathecal chemotherapy.
• Able to pass the required Pass/Fail EKG exam with a maximum of two attempts.
