Quality Inspector I - 2 Shift Monday - Thursday 4/10 hour nights 3pm - 1am Location: Newport, Vermont Job Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt Make Quality Matter Galvion is seeking a detail-oriented and quality-focused Quality Inspector I to join our team in Newport, Vermont. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring that incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products meet established quality standards and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is meticulous, organized, adaptable, and comfortable working collaboratively with production and quality teams to identify issues, solve problems, and continuously improve processes. What You’ll Do Perform and document incoming, in-process, and finished goods inspections according to inspection instructions, ANSI sampling plans, and quality requirements. Determine appropriate incoming inspection sample criteria and accurately document results in SyteLine and inspection records. Inspect incoming materials and semi-finished products and release conforming components in accordance with established procedures. Perform finished product inspections based on product and customer requirements. Evaluate inspection and test results for compliance and identify potential quality concerns. Complete Non-Conforming Reports when required and communicate failing results appropriately. Review inspection findings with production team members, quality leads, and fellow inspectors. Identify trends, aberrations, and opportunities for improvement before they develop into larger quality issues. Participate in problem-solving activities and quality improvement teams. Apply and review AII/ACP documentation in accordance with drawing requirements. Use calibrated measurement and inspection equipment while verifying calibration status. Maintain accurate inspection, testing, and quality documentation. Perform Document Control activities, including reviewing and updating facility-level documents and Work Instructions. Recommend improvements to the quality of processes and components. Perform other duties as assigned while maintaining quality, safety, and procedural requirements. What We’re Looking For Manufacturing and/or Quality Control experience preferred. Associate degree or equivalent applicable work experience is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with ISO processes and ISO 9001 certification and compliance. Ability to use standard measuring devices for quality inspections. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities. Excellent time-management skills. Ability to learn new jobs, testing methods, and techniques quickly. Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and testing schedules. Motivated, dependable, and committed to accurate documentation and timely completion of work.
