Overview Dental Associates of Florida - Lakeland South (W&A) is looking for a Dental Assistant in Lakeland, FL to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. Position Overview As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of the care team, supporting the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience to be considered. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures. Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models. Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed). Assist with dental and medical emergencies, maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory. Qualifications Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program OR six months on-the-job experience (with supporting documentation) X-Ray certification Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended High school diploma or equivalent Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
